Program Coordinator

Erika J. Toribio is a first generation college student receiving her B.A. and M.A. in Social Work from California State University, Fresno. Mrs. Toribio has also completed a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in order to become a school social worker.

Mrs. Toribio is not only an active school social worker but she also has a wide variety of experience within her field. Mrs. Toribio worked for Fresno County Child Welfare Services as a Social Worker for nearly ten years before following her passion into becoming a school social worker at Addams Elementary, with Fresno Unified School District. Mrs. Toribio focuses most of her work on teaching elementary students social emotional skills in order to thrive in school and life.

Erika was born in Mexico, and later migrated to the United States with her parents at the age of 7 years old. Mrs. Toribio was raised by hard working migrant parents in the small town of Woodlake. As a young child, Mrs. Toribio would dedicate her summers off from school to travel to Washington State and help her parents work in cherry picking. Growing up, Mrs. Toribio faced inequities within her school district, leading her to her current life’s passion of social emotional intelligence and awareness.

Erika’s favorite quote: “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop” – Wisdom of Confucius.
